Romantic Times Conference

 Daytona 2006

WORKSHOPS and Bookfairs and Mixers... Oh My!!!

oh yeah... wasn't this why I told Jonathon I wanted to go?

View from my Room... That's a life guard house folks.

Hot Guys every morning.  Yum Yum!!!

I was a couple of blocks down from the Hilton.  Only $50.00 bucks a night and the same gorgeous view.  Inconvenient  in some ways, but for the money, it was fantastic.

Held in the beautiful Daytona Hilton on the beach, It's a wonder that anyone ever went inside.

As you can tell, the views were spectacular.  And if you went down onto the beach itself, the views were even better.

Okay... so I look at guys.  Wow!  There's a shocker!

This beach view was nice too!  Ooops... This should be in the Hunk category!

Got to know Cheyenne McCray after one of the workshops.  She is one organized and interesting lady.  I've gotten her books since, and she is fantastic!

While not one of my favorite writers, (I like her early stuff much better) I was able to spend some time with Laurell K. Hamilton in several workshops and after a party one night.

She and her husband are so down to earth, and I really enjoyed meeting her.  She told us some stories of her life that would make your hair curl.  Apparently popularity isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

She had a 'friend' with her, but anyone with eyes could tell he was a bodyguard.

Another Author I enjoyed was Mary Janice Davidson.  She does paranormal stories with a lot of humor.  I've read two of them and enjoyed them thoroughly.  I highly recommend this author if your like vamps or werewolves.

Sorry for the blurry pics.  PK isn't good for pictures.  Another author I enjoyed was JC Wilder. (2nd from left)   She tells it like it is!  She and Laurell got into it a bit during one of the workshops and if I was going to lay money down... it would been on JC

This was a great workshop on how to break into the erotica market.  Even though I'm already published, I got a lot of tips on how submit to print houses.

In the workshop for writing about Vampires, I was fortunate to meet and talk with Christine Feehan. (On the left)  I had a reader compare my Soulmates world to her Carpathian one.  Since I'd never heard of her or her books, I wanted to see why.  I found out very quickly that being compared to this lady is a huge compliment.

The morning mixers, (at the ungodly hour of 8:30) were a great way to meet other authors and fans.  This is where Calista and I first met.  But we hung out during the rest of the week whenever we saw each other.

This is Joy, of Joyfully Reviewed.  Since her house gave Here Comes Peter such a great review I wanted to meet her, and get her email so I could send her the dancing rabbit.  She has got as much energy as a bunny, I gotta tell you!

Saturday Book Fair.  Wow... Authors, authors, authors.  As far as the eye could see. I didn't do any signings since I was so new, but maybe next year!

It was fun to go through and meet everybody, tho.

The line for Laurell K. Hamilton's autograph reached around the building.  But I got the one I wanted.  Marilyn Campbell was the first paranormal romance I ever read, years ago before it was cool to write.  She was at the Psychic Sunday and we talked for a while.  It was the one book I brought from home to be autographed.

These two lovely ladies write the best books about werewolves.

Mary Janice Davidson and Kate Douglas

Another author I met.  I mentioned her on the list as a recommended read.  Angela Knight wrote The Forever Kiss and of course Kate Douglas who just published Wolf Tales and Sexy Beast.

Sheri Ross Fogarty - Editor and Chief Changeling Press

Keep your fingers crossed.  This is the editor who I've been in touch with about the story... Bless the Beasts.

Authors CJ Burton, Liddy Midnight and artist SL Campbell

Liddy and I had lunch together one day and compared notes.  She is a great person and we are going to stay in touch and swap stories.

Swiped this from Joy, since Annemarie and I never found each other.  But that's okay... She and I will be having lunch when she comes to Orlando in July!

And two of my favorite people that I met at RT.  Cover model hopeful Travis and his mom, mystery romance writer, Lori Greiman
